Detailed Description
The Zero Tolerance 0610 Automatic is built in the tradition of ZT’s practically indestructible construction and top-of-the-line materials. It features fully automatic blade deployment and, as such, is regulated by Federal laws. This knife is only sold through authorized dealers and cannot be shipped through the US Postal Service. To compliment its automatic operation, the 0610 also features the ZT Push Button Auto Lock. It operates with the push of a button and features a secondary slider lock that prevents the button from being accidentally depressed and deployed. Just move the secondary slider forward into a notch under the button and it’s completely secure. The Push Button Auto Lock was specifically designed to operate easily, even with gloves on. 154CM blade steel and machined, aircraft-aluminum handles make this partially serrated, folder sturdy and reliable.

AUTO-KNIFE POLICY
It's important to first note that these types of knives are restricted and Federally regulated. Be certain of permissibility in your location including state or local governments and within your reporting bodies.
These are automatic knives which open at the push of a button. An especially important feature to have if your disability, occupation or profession has the potential of limiting your mobility or freedom to access a knife through traditional means.
Most blades are deployed out from the handle side like traditional folding knives and some models open directly from the top (OTF), and the blade is spring open assisted to a fully locked position. These are primarily manufactured for Law Enforcement, Military and Government Agency distribution.
Please note: Sales of automatic knives to Illinois are now prohibited (exceptions are made for knife dealers).

Federal Codes:
18 USC 1716 (G) (2) (1-4) provides this summary: Switchblades (automatic) knives can be shipped to civilian and armed forces supply or procurement officers and employees of the Federal government ordering or procuring or purchasing such knives in connection with activities in the Federal government; supply or procurement officers in the National Guard, the Air National Guard or militia of the state or territory of the District of Columbia ordering, procuring or purchasing such knives in connections with the activities of such organizations; to supply or procurement officers or employees of the municipal government of the District of Columbia or the government of any state or territory of any county, city or other political subdivision of a state or territory ordering, procuring or purchasing such knives in connection with the activities of such government.
5 USC 1244 provides in summary: Knives can be shipped by common carrier, that sale, transportation or distribution, possession or introduction into interstate commerce of switchblades knives is authorized if it is pursuant to a contract with the armed forces or any member or employee thereof acting in the performance of his or her duty may possess switchblade knives and may have them shipped to him and sold to him or her. The possession and transportation upon his or her person of a switchblade knife or a blade 3 inches or less is authorized to any handicapped individual who has the use of only one arm.
