Detailed Description
Innovative knifemakers Grant and Gavin Hawk score again with the ZT 0650st Automatic. It features the solid Zero Tolerance feel, a slightly lighter weight, and the unique style of the father-and-son team of Grant and Gavin Hawk.
The 0650st features ZT's new CrossFire Auto Lock for extreme lock down security. Toss it on a table, snag it on a seatbelt, manhandle it on a duty belt - there's no chance the blade will accidentally deploy. Why? l Because the unique CrossFire lock require two motions to deploy. First the user slides the lock toward the knife's spine, then pulls it down toward the butt. Only then will the blade deploy with a satisfying click into position.
The Hawks chose a drop-point blade with partial serration in high-end 154CM stainless steel, which provides the ideal blend of toughness, wear resistance, and sharpenability. The matte black Tungsten DLC coating is non-reflective and offers additional blade performance.
For lighter weight, the 0650st's scales are constructed of 6061-T6 anodized aluminum with textured G-10 overlays. The G-10 provides a secure grip, insulation and high tensile and impact strength. The 0650st also includes a removable or reversible pocket clip for left of right hand carry.

AUTO-KNIFE POLICY
It's important to first note that these types of knives are restricted and Federally regulated. Be certain of permissibility in your location including state or local governments and within your reporting bodies.
These are automatic knives which open at the push of a button. An especially important feature to have if your disability, occupation or profession has the potential of limiting your mobility or freedom to access a knife through traditional means.
Most blades are deployed out from the handle side like traditional folding knives and some models open directly from the top (OTF), and the blade is spring open assisted to a fully locked position. These are primarily manufactured for Law Enforcement, Military and Government Agency distribution.
Please note: Sales of automatic knives to Illinois are now prohibited (exceptions are made for knife dealers).

18 USC 1716 (G) (2) (1-4) provides this summary: Switchblades (automatic) knives can be shipped to civilian and armed forces supply or procurement officers and employees of the Federal government ordering or procuring or purchasing such knives in connection with activities in the Federal government; supply or procurement officers in the National Guard, the Air National Guard or militia of the state or territory of the District of Columbia ordering, procuring or purchasing such knives in connections with the activities of such organizations; to supply or procurement officers or employees of the municipal government of the District of Columbia or the government of any state or territory of any county, city or other political subdivision of a state or territory ordering, procuring or purchasing such knives in connection with the activities of such government.
5 USC 1244 provides in summary: Knives can be shipped by common carrier, that sale, transportation or distribution, possession or introduction into interstate commerce of switchblades knives is authorized if it is pursuant to a contract with the armed forces or any member or employee thereof acting in the performance of his or her duty may possess switchblade knives and may have them shipped to him and sold to him or her. The possession and transportation upon his or her person of a switchblade knife or a blade 3 inches or less is authorized to any handicapped individual who has the use of only one arm.
